We've been holding off on releasing this print for awhile, but now we can finally reveal our limited edition screen print movie poster, Street Trash by Chris Skinner. We mentioned in our previous Anthony Petrie RoboCop release that we wanted to start giving out free limited edition pins with the purchase of a poster. This will be our second limited edition screen print movie poster release that includes a free 1.5" soft enamel glow in the dark pin for the first 100 orders.
When starting Skuzzles, we had a list of 20 some odd films that we wanted to create a limited edition screen print movie poster for and Street Trash was one of them. Growing up in the days of video stores, we would spend hours gawking at VHS box art. One film with box art that always deserved a meticulous analysis was the original (North American) Street Trash release. Through the eyes of a young lad, it didn't matter what the film was about, the box art had a guy melting to pieces through a grimy looking toilet. The first time we watched Street Trash was by far not the last, it still holds up as one of our all time favorite cult horror comedies. Street Trash is a film that we hold in high regard and we couldn't be happier with the colors, style and composition that Chris Skinner executed on this poster. The end result is an epic cornucopia of awesomeness that captures so many aspects of Street Trash. As limited edition screen print movie poster collectors, and huge fans of Street Trash, we are extremely happy to offer a Skuzzles Street Trash poster. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Here's a little bit from artist Chris Skinner regarding this take on the artwork:
"Street Trash is chaotic and crazy, the melt scenes are my favourite parts and are full of colour almost to the point of being cartoon-like. When sitting down to first design the look of this poster I realised that there was no 'one' scene that could summarise this film (apart from the toilet scene but that's been done loads of times now) so I decided on a busy, chaotic composition using some of the main characters and I wanted to inject some energy into the work. The king of the junk yard stands proud at the top of the art and as you move down there are various other characters and scenes that fans of the film will recognise until we get to the melted man's head in the toilet. Also no print is complete without a tough cop throwing a woman!"
